LEAHN Co-ordinator Greg Denham will be traveling to Bangkok and Jakarta to expand the LEAH Network and raise awareness of the important role police have in HIV prevention.
Greg will be in Bangkok between the 12th-15th of March where he will meet with LEAHN’s Country Focal Point for Thailand, Police Lieutenant Colonel (Tong) Krisanaphong Poothakool, Royal Thai Police.
Greg will be delivering a speech at a seminar on ‘Crimes and the ASEAN community’ to be held at Rangsit University. The event is hosted jointly by the College of Government and Public Governance, Criminology and Justice Administration, Rangsit University: United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime: PSI Thailand Foundation and Royal Thai Police Cadet Academy. The event is aimed primarily at dealing with transitional crime among the ASEAN community and Criminal Justice Reform in Thailand. Law enforcement officials, policy makers and experts on criminology and criminal justice administration have been invited.
Greg will then travel to Jakarta between 16th-18th March and meet with the new Indonesian Country Focal Point for LEAHN Police Lieutenant Colonel Lastri Riyanti to plan. Greg will also meet with a range of key stakeholders and promote a collaborative approach to HIV prevention between the law enforcement sector and public health experts.
