Welcome to the team! Thanks for introducing yourself to our readers.
My name is Zephania L. Mushumbusi, a retired Assistant Commissioner of police. Work Experience
I have a more than seven years working experience in counseling and psychotherapy. I worked with the Tanzania Police Force as a counselor and psychotherapist from 2008 to 2014 when I retired at compulsory age of 60. During the stated period I was involved in provision of counseling services to HIV/AIDS clients, drug abuse/alcohol abuse clients and other clients with various psychological disorders.
The great thing I achieved in Tanzania Police Force is the establishment of a sustainable counseling program that has been a blessing to many officers. Before joining Ministry of Home Affairs in 1988, I worked for ten years with the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs as a clinician, doing curative and preventive medicine.
Harm reduction experience
In 2014, Mr Abdalah Kirungu and I, in collaboration with Medicine Du Monde, Tanzania we conducted five day training to police officers at Moshi Police Academy, Tanzania on drug abuse, HIV/AIDS harm reduction. In 2014 and 2015, I attended a level one and two training on harm reduction for medical staffs conducted by Medicine Du Monde, Tanzania.
